Connect Claude

About 2 minutes. Works on Claude free and paid plans; mobile needs the Claude app. Once connected on the web, it syncs to desktop and your phone automatically.

Part 1 — Add the connector (web)

Go to claude.ai → Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.

Name: Rentalope · URL: https://mcp.rentalope.com copy → click Add.

Claude opens the Rentalope sign-in page. Log in with your Rentalope account, review what Claude is asking to access, and click Approve.

Done — Rentalope now appears in Claude's tools menu in any chat.

Part 2 — Desktop and mobile

Connectors are tied to your Claude account, so desktop and mobile pick it up automatically. On your phone, open a chat, tap the tools menu, and make sure Rentalope is enabled. That's the whole trick to voice intake: stand in the driveway, hold the mic button, and say what you bought.

Part 3 — Permissions

For your first session, leave Claude's "ask permission" setting on so you see each action before it runs. Once you're comfortable, you can let the lookups run freely — Rentalope's own safeguards still apply no matter what: rentals always preview first, and money actions always require your explicit confirmation.

Part 4 — First things to say

"What's in my Rentalope account?"

"I bought a GE washer/dryer set today for $270, needs a new belt, it's in the trailer."

"Import this spreadsheet." (attach your inventory file)

Troubleshooting

Login loops back to Claude without connecting — your browser is blocking third-party cookies. Allow cookies for rentalope.com, or complete the sign-in in your default browser.
Rentalope doesn't show in the tools menu — start a new chat; connectors added mid-conversation don't appear in existing chats.
You see a "subscription required" page at sign-in — your Rentalope AI subscription has lapsed. Resubscribe at rentalope.com/subscribe and reconnect; all your data is exactly where you left it.
